About the Organisation

Step into a high-profile Federal Government entity. Operating within the Corporate Services, Property and Procurement division, this agency supports critical national infrastructure and services. You will enjoy a structured, supportive environment where your organisational skills will directly impact national operations.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an operational superstar for an initial 6-month labor hire engagement as a Fleet Officer (APS5 equivalent).

Supporting the national Fleet Manager, you will be the gears that keep the organisation moving. This is a fast-paced, highly varied role managing day-to-day coordination, procurement, and end-to-end insurance claims.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Fleet Coordination: Manage vehicle leasing, maintenance, lifecycles, vehicle selection, ordering, infringements, and breakdown coordination.

  • Insurance Management: Own the end-to-end insurance claim process via Comcover, including managing repair quotes and temporary hire car arrangements.

  • Procurement Support: Assist with purchasing activities in strict alignment with Commonwealth Procurement Rules and internal policies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the key point of contact for internal staff, senior management, leasing companies, and external insurers.

  • Data & Admin: Maintain immaculate fleet records, systems, contract files, and documentation while assisting with monthly operational reporting.

What We Are Looking For:

  • The Blueprint: Solid experience operating in fleet management roles, vehicle leasing, or related contract/procurement environments.

  • The Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you can confidently advise internal clients and external providers alike.

  • The Organiser: A proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively without dropping the ball on data accuracy.

  • Tech Savvy: Highly proficient in MS Office and dedicated Fleet Management databases.

  • Government Know-How (Desirable): Prior exposure to government environments or holding a Cert IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting) and/or Fleet Management is highly regarded.

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Must hold Australian citizenship.

  • Must satisfy a National Police Records Check.

  • Must complete a health declaration/clearance.
